Tread Lightly Caravan

Yesterday we went to the Tread Lightly Caravan. We took parts in lots of exciting activities, we even planted a radish seed each! The main messages were: - Our actions and choices have an effect on our environment. - If we continue to use resources (water, materials, energy) as we do now, we will run out. - Small changes in the way we live will help save resources, prevent pollution and protect our plants, animals and their habitats.

ROC Day 2016

We had so much fun on ROC Day! We walked around the community picking up rubbish, took part in outdoor challenges and did Art. What a cool day!

Annabel's Favourite Part

My favourite part was the school lesson because even though the cane was scary it was still exciting. The slates and the letters were all weird especially when you are actually using one!! By Annabel

More Thoughts about Howick Village

My favourite part was going to the school house. Mrs Palmer was very strict and she carried a scary cane with her. I liked using slate pencils to write on the slate boards. We did Geography and I found that a little bit tricky. I was a bit scared of Mrs Palmer because she whacked my desk with her cane. By Kaia

Howick Village

We had a fantastic day at Howick Village on Friday! Here are some of our favourite parts.
My favourite part was the parlour games. I learnt that it’s a chance for new friends to join and play games together. Also it’s a chance for kids to find love. My favourite game was the one with a ring on a piece of string, I was a bit disappointed because I did not get to have a turn to have the ring. By Ruby

Rose's Cross Country Sense Poem

I can see my mum clapping and cheering, encouraging me to run faster. I can hear the engine of cars racing faster than me. I can feel my legs; tired, weak, but determined. I can smell the hot sweat dripping down my cheeks. I can taste my saliva swishing in my mouth. By Rose

Ruby's Cross Country Sense Poem

I can see Kaia speeding in front of me as I run up the steep hill. It feels like I am climbing a never ending staircase. I can hear children puffing while they are racing towards the loud, excited crowd. I can feel my strong legs pushing me up the towering hill on Hillcrest Ave. I can smell sweaty kids in their hot, sticky sports uniform. I can taste the dry air inside my tired mouth because all my saliva is gone! By Ruby
