There standing in the dimly lit room was a witch. She had...
She had a couple of old, rotten crooked teeth and her mouth was all dried up. Her eyes were like pingpong balls and had a touch of evil. The wrinkles on her face were like a prune and her nose was like a long finger hanging off her face. She had grey hair, like ragged string. Her long fingernails were as sharp as a pocket knife and her bony fingers were like a birds leg.
By Kaia
She had a nose like a fishing rod hook and you couldn't see her nostrils. She only had two teeth, one on each side of her mouth. They were horribly dirty. Her eyes were as round as soccer balls and beady so they were always watching you. Her face was so wrinkly you would burst to iron it. Her smile looked like she was about to do the most wicked laugh.
By Amy
She had a hooked nose. Her eyes looked as evil as a monster. Her fingernails were so sharp they looked as if she might be ready for a spell. She only had two teeth, one on the right and one on the left. They both looked dirty. It looked like she was really old.

Cricket
In PE we have been having lessons with the North Harbour cricket coaches. We have been learning how to bat. At the end of the lesson we got to play non-stop cricket.
Cultural Festival
We are proud of our cultures and loved showing off our costumes during the Sunnybrae Cultural Parade.

Hooks
We have been learning how to write interesting introductions in our recounts to 'hook' our readers.
Thump! Thump! We crept quietly and slowly towards the white door. We could hear the Primary girls class finishing their exam.
By Emaraina
I was patient and excited, waiting for the tournament to begin. It was finally Thursday, the day when the Middle Syndicate cricket teams were going to play.
By Nati
Splish, splash, kick, kick! It was last Wednesday in the middle block and the whole Middle Syndicate were at the Sunnybrae pool getting ready.
By Kaia
I couldn't believe I had done it! I had finally finished...

Holiday Poems
Mrs Olliver taught us how to write Diamante poems about our holidays. The poems below are from Max, Sophia and Zac L.
Swimsation
We have really enjoyed our swimming lessons with the Swimsation coaches. Read some of our Learning Log entries below.
I am learning to do arm circles but I am not making my arms straight enough. I am also trying not to put my feet down.
By Johan
I am very good at freestyle because my arms are flexible. Learning to swim is important because if you fall in the water you might sink if you can't swim.
By Amy
I am learning to float on by back and do backstroke.
By Zach M
My favourite thing about Swimsation lessons is the games because we get to play Noodle Tag.
